How Wigan and Leigh Students Design – Websites

With the growing age of technology, learning the basics of web designing is important. This statement holds true for all aspiring graphic designers. WLCI School of Design, therefore has incorporated the module for Website Designing in the modules of all students.

This is a skill that requires disciplines and understanding of production as well as maintenance. A web designer needs to adapt the knowledge of graphic designing and interface designing. One must also have good grasp on standard coding system, proprietary software systems, search engine optimization techniques and user experience driven design.

WLCI also encourages the future designers to think from client point of view. Understanding the target audience and market can do wonders for a website. While establishing the structure of the design, the trends and preference of visitor needs to be incorporated. The reputation of a Business, in today’s world, depends on its website.

These days, one needs to pay great attention to the user experience and interactive design. Another trend amongst websites is the use of social plug – ins. WLCI students are taught how to design a website incorporating the following :-
  • Page Layout
  • Typography
  • Motion Graphics
  • Quality of Code
Here’s the image of a page layout designed by our student. Chaitanya Mishra is a talented and budding design professional and is currently a pursuing a Professional Programme in Visual Communications at  WLCI Mumbai Campus.
