Recently a Poster making competition was held in Mumbai.
Students from all design institutes were seen at the venue. This event was
being held by a charitable foundation along with the guidance and support of
the Mumbai Police Commissioner.
This was no ordinary competition, it had a motive. Which was
to create awareness and generate support for the Safety and Security of Women
and Children’s of India. It saddens the WLCI Community to see the conditions of
women and children on the streets of Mumbai.
So, when the news of such an event being hosted came to the
ears of Mumbai Campus dwellers, many jumped in to participate.
Two of our students walked away with the glory of receiving
recognition, whilst others were just happy to get the opportunity to contribute
their thoughts.
Ashni Hemmady, who won the consolation prize, spoke about
her inspiration – “This poster was an attempt to spread awareness against child
abuse, initiated by Mumbai Police. My concept of the poster was simply a
message conveying that the string of the balloon might just end up strangling
them and their childhood because of child abuse.”
