WLCI College shares with you acumen things that you must consider before joining an animation institute.

Blending in entertainment and technology with designs, drawings and exciting multimedia clips, animation breathes life into a character like nothing else. The passion involved in creating these characters makes animation one of the most-sought-after jobs today.

To make a mark in this field, what is most essential is proper training. Here are a few things that must strike you before joining an institute:

  • Skills: The field of animation has various areas of expertise so do be sure that the school you wish to join teaches the specific skills you will need to succeed in your chosen field.
  • Curriculum: The course offered must be in sync with industry requirements and one way to judge it would be to check out where the graduates are working.
  • Faculty: It pays when you are trained by professionals with real-world experience for they are best armed to teach you the tricks of the trade and help you gain the skills needed to succeed in your job.

WLCI College of Advertising and Graphic Design had Sandeep as a student at the Delhi Campus. We asked him to comment on the course he pursued and he had the following to say –

“PG Visual communication Programme focuses on muti disciplinary thinking. The programme provided a great opportunity to talk to and learn from people not only of different subject areas, but also different backgrounds. The faculty encouraged me to do a project on mobile design. During the PG programme, gave me an opportunity to contribute and undertake digital design projects that converged with technology. ”

How Wigan and Leigh Students Design – Websites

With the growing age of technology, learning the basics of web designing is important. This statement holds true for all aspiring graphic designers. WLCI School of Design, therefore has incorporated the module for Website Designing in the modules of all students.

This is a skill that requires disciplines and understanding of production as well as maintenance. A web designer needs to adapt the knowledge of graphic designing and interface designing. One must also have good grasp on standard coding system, proprietary software systems, search engine optimization techniques and user experience driven design.

WLCI also encourages the future designers to think from client point of view. Understanding the target audience and market can do wonders for a website. While establishing the structure of the design, the trends and preference of visitor needs to be incorporated. The reputation of a Business, in today’s world, depends on its website.

These days, one needs to pay great attention to the user experience and interactive design. Another trend amongst websites is the use of social plug – ins. WLCI students are taught how to design a website incorporating the following :-
  • Page Layout
  • Typography
  • Motion Graphics
  • Quality of Code
Here’s the image of a page layout designed by our student. Chaitanya Mishra is a talented and budding design professional and is currently a pursuing a Professional Programme in Visual Communications at  WLCI Mumbai Campus.
