WLCI looks into the topic of
E-waste management in India.
'e-Waste' management is now blowing
up in our face. There is no organized method of handling the e-Waste in India.
Individual components of e-Waste is dismantled and recycled in different ways.
The methods followed by the informal recycler’s are rather crude. On an annual
basis, India produces about 15 lakh tones of e-waste and around 90 percent of
that waste is estimated to be recycled in the informal sector, which bypasses
the safety and environmental regulations.
It’s
time to wake up and make things right now!
